Whenever I'm asked about the inspiration behind V's, my mind invariably travels back to the cherished days of my youth in Tucson, Arizona, where visiting Nick’s Barbershop with my father was a cornerstone of my childhood. Those visits were more than just routine haircuts—they were a rite of passage, a shared experience, where, as a boy, I felt a profound sense of belonging, watching and learning from the men around me.

In 1994, with the birth of my son, I found myself yearning to recreate these core memories in the barbershop. I wanted to give my son the same unforgettable experiences of bonding and human connection. However, my search through Phoenix and beyond left me empty-handed, unable to find a place that resonated with the same spirit and warmth of the classic barbershop. This gap inspired a bold leap.

Despite my lack of industry knowledge and not being a barber myself, I was driven by a vision. In 1999, I proudly opened the doors of the first V’s Barbershop. Our mission was simple yet profound: to recreate that timeless, authentic barbershop experience, where fathers and sons could bond over the simple yet significant ritual of a haircut.

At V's, we strive to offer more than just premium haircuts at a reasonable price. We create experiences that foster lasting memories, just like the ones I recall so fondly. The passing of my father in 2003 only deepened my commitment to this vision. V's Barbershop is a tribute to him and to all the fathers and sons who enjoy spending time together.

At V’s we know that the hiring of competent and friendly barbers / cosmetologists is critical to success. V’s will provide you with various ad templates and tools for recruitment of your initial staff. V’s will assist you in evaluating barbers / cosmetologists that have not only the skill, but also the temperament to make your V’s a success. Lastly, history has taught us that once you employ barbers/ cosmetologists that value the high quality and above market earning potential at V’s, they tend to be a stable and dependable workforce. We will offer the services of our staff and our Director of Barbering. With our combined years of experience in the barbering and cosmetology industry, we will are familiar with the challenge of finding qualified staff and we will help you to work within your municipality to assist you in hiring a staff that is best for your barbershop.
Advertising Fees are used to build the V’s brand and to increase sales at your V’s. V’s has developed ads for a number of placements including in-store use, social networking sites, traditional print media, internet and e-mail campaigns.These ads are kept current and are available to use as needed. In those areas with a concentration of V’s Barbershops, a portion of the advertising fees will go directly to the placement of a media campaign. In those areas with few stores, V’s corporate staff will assist you with your local store marketing campaigns. V’s strongest form of advertising is word-of-mouth, so we firmly believe in being part of the community–supporting youth sports teams, sponsoring father and son tournaments, giving to local schools and charities.
The real estate team at V’s Barbershop works very hard at identifying the best locations in each city. Once you become a franchisee, you will also work with V’s team to research and suggest outstanding V’s Barbershop sites.
The market for men’s grooming services is large and growing.With the financial impact of the Baby Boomers increasing, V’s is ideally situated to cater to this conservative demographic. Nonetheless, V’s will not saturate markets and firmly believes in giving our franchise community maximum chance of success.
